I just love these challenges. Thank you to Julia at who organises these, and everyone who takes part. Why don’t you have a go – you can find out more at http://juliasplace.org.uk/100wcgu/brexit-the-bayeux-tapestry/
The theme this week is …and just when Harold thought it couldn’t get any worse…
So here’s my take on it …
Zoe held out her chubby little hand for Harold to admire the crushed daisy in her fist. Drooping. Sad. “Mmm, pretty. But don’t eat it.” He brushed away a couple of petals from her lips. “Nana will be back soon, and we’ll have lunch.”
Five minutes later, she had a handful of dirt to show him, smears around her chin. “Not in your mouth, darling. Urgh, dirty.”
A couple more minutes. Zoe held out her hand again. And just when Harold thought it couldn’t get any worse, she opened her fist. “Oh, a worm. Lovely.”
She grinned, mouth full.
“Ah. Half a worm.”
Haha! So cute and I get it! I enjoyed her challenges too and I’m glad to see them return.

Very cute. Worms are much better than flowers and dirt! I am also glad 100 word is back! Maybe it will get me back to writing a little bit!

Hi, it’s great to hear from you. Please do have a go, it’s fun. The half a worm was inspired by my youngest sister, who wandered in from the garden one day, with just that hanging out of her mouth.

Loved this Kimberly! It reminded me of the time my little sister brought me half of my pet turtles leg! LOL. Needless to say, dear old Clarabelle didn’t make it. I’m thrilled to see the challenge return as well. Nice job.@sheilamgood at Cow Pasture Chronicles

Fabulous take on the prompt Kim! Made me laugh out loud! You can see the scene can’t you. Great to be back together again. Do let me know if you ever fancy setting the prompt as a guest poster!

Reminds me of when I was about 5 and I had always been taught to keep my hands clean and eat nothing that dropped on the ground. One day I decided I needed to be brave and adventurous and try eating something that had dropped on the ground — like a lot of other kids did. So I took a piece of hard candy out of my mouth, threw it into our dirt and cinder drive-way, then picked it up and stuck it back in my mouth. I felt like an adventurer.

You’ve really captured roddler + new world to explore – so sweet, happy and ironic. He’s lucky it wasn’t something the dog depisited. 😉

Hi Jacki, I do that too, when my brain is working too fast for my fingers! Thanks for taking the time to comment. This was based on my youngest sister, who found half a worm very tasty when she was about 3. Although 40 years later, I’m not sure she’d want to be reminded. 😬

My poor little sister did something a little worse that eat a worm. It’s awful and upsets her…so I never mention it. She was 2 yrs old, so I was 5. We got ducklings for easter. She carried one around by the neck. 😦 it sounds akin to someone being given half a turtle’s leg.

Awww, I can tell, that didn’t end well. I bet she still remembers it now.

Only because us older folks told her about it when she was older. She was too young to remember or even know what happened. It would have been much better never to have told her.

I guess so. Are you having a go at the 100 word challenge yourself?

Thinking about it. 🙂

It’s a lot of fun. I like the discipline of having a theme to write on, and a restricted number of words suits me.
