If it’s 21 March, it’s time for the Theme Reveal for the A-Z Blogging Challenge which takes place every April.
Last year was the first year I did the challenge, and as is my wont, I only decided at the last minute to have a go and didn’t have a theme. This year, I’m a bit better prepared and decided to have a common thread linking my blog posts.
So, what have I gone for?
Well, it probably won’t be any surprise, given my liking for writing twisty short stories, often with a dark bent, that I’ve decided to go with that as a theme. Every day during April (except Sundays which we get off for good behaviour) I’ll post a short piece starting with the initial letter for that day. (Sneak Preview – on 1 April I’m starting with the word Always.)
Now, this theme is quite a lot of work, so I’ve made a start drafting the stories already. But there are still a few letters I haven’t got anything for. So, to help me out, if you’d like to suggest a word beginning with E, M or R, then I’ll see what I can do to write a story with that as the first word.
Please check back in April to see how this is all going. and if you’re taking part in the A-Z Blogging Challenge yourself, good luck, and hope you have fun!
E = Ermentrude the Elephant. M = . R = can only be Rudolf the red nose.!
Spellings might be wrong!

Sounds like an interesting theme! If you’re going for dark, of course the only M I can think of is ‘murder.’ 😀

Ooh yes, I think that’s the one! Thank you.

You are too kind. I only share as I figure out stuff, and that seems never ending. Apparently I have a lot to learn.

How about emu, mask, and run? Coming up with stories for each letter sounds a lot harder than finding some interesting facts about science. Good luck!

Hi Tamara, thanks for the ideas. So far, I’ve had some really interesting suggestions. Gonna go with your R for Run at least. My stories will be very short, so hopefully not too difficult. Look forward to catching up in April.

Love this! Big fan of dark and twisty short stories (one of my favorite writers is Roald Dahl), so I’ll be a frequent visitor. Congrats on being part of John Holton’s team; I know him through the Battle of The Bands hop, and he’s a fabulous guy. You’ll have a great April together 🙂

Hi Kim!!! Hi-fi on being part of the same team Holton’s Heroes!!! 🙂 Interesting theme. Stories are always fun and interesting to read. You live so many lives in a short span of time. All the best for the challenge and being the minion.
My suggestions – E : Ecstasy || M: Memories || R-Revenge 🙂 🙂

M = Maleficent. Hey you said “dark bent” right? I’m looking forward to doing this challenge. Are there rules and if so, where are they posted?

Maleficent. What a great word. Thank you for that. The A-Z Blogging Challenge probably only has one rule really – write something on your blog every day during April (except Sundays, you get those off), starting with something beginning with A on 1 April, B on 2 April etc. Some people set themselves a theme, which I think makes it harder. Last year I did the challenge for the first time, and didn’t have a theme. My posts varied from Cats to Zentangle and everything in between. You can find more about the challenge at http://www.a-to-zchallenge.com/
Hope you decide to have a go. It’s free and friendly!
